Oxfam has a vision where all people are empowered to pursue development opportunities which address all forms of poverty and injustice. In Vietnam we work in partnership with government, civil society, businesses, communities, media, research institutions and think tanks to influence policy and practices aiming at reversing economic, gender and social inequalities. Our work is guided by four goals:
Vietnam Change Goal 1: Good Governance
Our good governance projects focuse on ensuring all citizens have access to information and feel confident about raising their voices. We work to ensure they have opportunities to influence decisions about their lives.
Vietnam Change Goal 2: Women's Rights
The vision for our women’s rights programme is that poor and marginalised women, particularly women of different social and ethnic groups, gain more power over their lives and are able to take leadership roles.
Vietnam Change Goal 3: Disaster Resilience
Oxfam’s aim is that vulnerable people in high-risk areas are more resilient to the impact of disasters and climate change. This means they are better able to adapt to extreme weather events and the changing climate.
Vietnam Change Goal 4: Resource Rights
The aim of Oxfam’s sustainable food and fair sharing of natural resources programme is to ensure that smallholder producers are able to secure access to and control over land, water and other natural resources.
Active Citizenship
Rights and voice are a common theme of all Oxfam work. We support formal and informal social networks to advance their agendas, promoting collective action of people living in poverty and confronting inequalities and injustices.
