Since she was a student, Chamroeun had always wanted to work with an NGO. After graduating in 2007, Chamroeun joined World Vision as an administrator in Takeo province. She went on to work for CARE and FFI before joining Oxfam in 2013.
Contributing to Programs
Chamroeun is responsible for admin and logistics to support programs, procurement tasks, coordinating and delivering information on donor policies, assessment management, monitoring all equipment, managing vehicle maintenance and working with drivers. She also supports program officers by providing orientation and helping with problem solving. Chamroeun is also a focal point with partnered ministries to process visas for expats and visitors.
Challenging Herself to Serve Better
"I feel attached to Oxfam because since high school I wanted to work with a humanitarian NGO. Oxfam turned out to be the one. The Voice project especially is a major initiative helping many vulnerable people," affirms Chamroeun. She regards entering a MoU with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a gateway to help Oxfam to implement projects officially and effectively in Cambodia. "Oxfam's mission is not only Cambodia but global. I love its mission. I need to challenge myself to always do better in my work. I have learned a lot from Oxfam in terms of communicating with ministries and preparing the administrative documents required in dealing with ministries.
