Since the beginning of 2014, Oxfam, working with local partners has supported around 283,757 South Sudanese refugees and the host communities with safe water, sanitation facilities and hygiene promotion. Oxfam has also extended emergency food security and livelihood support that includes energy saving stove, cash for work programme and agriculture-based livelihood. This support has a strong component of environment protection inbuilt into it. Oxfam’s intervention also includes gender and protection of refugees and largely using the evidence generated from this work for advocacy. All these interventions are linked to our development work of building the resilience of these communities.
